Voluntary Bonding Scheme
Māori Oral Health Providers are part of Health Workforce New Zealands Voluntary Bonding Scheme ('the Scheme'). This means that payments are rewarded to eligible new BDS graduates who agree to work in hard-to-staff professions, communities and/or specialties. In addition to your salary, those confirmed on the scheme and who meet the Terms and Conditions will receive the following annual after-tax payments of $10,000 for five years to help repay their student loan or as top-up income.

Māori Oral Health Providers deliver comprehensive oral health care in the primary care setting. There are currently eight (8) Māori Oral Health Providers across Aotearoa New Zealand located in urban and rural areas with fixed and mobile dental clinics. Unlike other dental providers, our Providers are integrated services, working alongside primary care, primary health care, and community health services.

To provide integrated, whanau based, oral health services to adolescents, emergency care to low income adults not eligible for Work & Income dental care subsidies, and within available resources care to over 65’s.
NPH has a dental clinic based in Ruatoria which services a patient base of 4500 we are seeking a FTE and can self- manage and lead this service , the practice is supported by a Chairside Assist/ Administrator.
• Registered as an oral health practitioner with the NZ Dental Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003.
