Our Mahi

Te Rōpu Niho Ora was established in 2009 by the Ministry of Health. The Rōpu  are made up of representatives from the Māori Oral Health Provider sector, who are iwi based, Māori owned and governed organisations.

 

There is a long and strong history of Māori Oral Health Providers, whose ultimate goal, has been to make oral health care more accessible to whānau Māori. The role of the Rōpu is to provide advice and strategic direction on clinical quality, service planning and provision, and priorities to advance Māori oral health and achieve equitable oral health outcomes for whānau Māori.

 

The rōpu comprise of representatives from six Māori oral health providers currently operating in Aotearoa.
